I am a fully qualified and insured merishia equine massage therapist and have a good knowledge of the horses muscular structure and how areas of tension affect the horse. However i am not a vet and will recommend that your horse is seen by a vet if deemed necessary if out of my field of expertise.
If your horse is currently in good health i will ask for the practice your horse is registered with and they will still need to be informed prior to treatment commencing and i will inform them of any pathologies found during assessment and treatment.
To work within my duty of care to both you and your horse, if your horse is currently under veterinary care i will require veterinary permission prior to treating your horse (Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966), this can be gained by a phone call either from myself or from the horses owner.
If i attend an appointment and i am unable to treat the horse as they need to be referred to a vet the full treatment cost is still due.
I will email you a form to fill out and email back to me before your appointment, please be as honest as possible so i can get a clear picture of what is happening with your horse.
Please ensure that your horse is clean and dry before your appointment, try not to book appointments around feeding time and you will not be able to ride your horse for 24hrs after the treatment.
